KAOHSIUNG — A four-day Children’s Day event at the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying, 衛武營國家藝術文化中心) drew large crowds, with organizers reporting total attendance exceeding 1 million visitors.

The “Dinosaur Fun Park” (恐龍酷樂園), which ran through April 6, featured live dinosaur performances, interactive exhibits, and themed activity zones. Attendance peaked on the opening day with more than 250,000 visitors, while improved weather on the third day helped push daily turnout to over 280,000, according to organizers.

The event included a performance by Japan’s DINO-A-LIVE troupe, along with fossil excavation areas, interactive games, and photo zones. A market featuring more than 100 vendors — offering food, crafts, and family-oriented activities — operated alongside the exhibition.

On the final day of the holiday weekend, crowds remained steady, with some attractions reaching capacity and lines forming at popular exhibits.

Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai (陳其邁) attended a closing event and thanked participants for their turnout. City officials said the program was part of broader efforts to combine cultural programming with tourism and family-oriented activities.

The figures provided were released by event organizers and have not been independently verified.
