Step into the strange Cold War world of The Chairman, a forgotten 1969 spy thriller starring Hollywood great Gregory Peck. The movie, which was partly filmed in Taiwan, is about a scientist sent behind the Bamboo Curtain to steal a miracle agricultural formula.

Kaohsiung City Councilor Huang Wen-yi (黃文益) says the district’s street character makes it suitable for outdoor seating and night-time activity. He suggested allowing shops to place tables and chairs on sidewalks, provided pedestrian access and public safety are not affected.

The “Dinosaur Fun Park” (恐龍酷樂園), which ran through April 6, featured live dinosaur performances, interactive exhibits, and themed activity zones. The city says attendance peaked on the opening day with more than 250,000 visitors, while improved weather on the third day helped push daily turnout to over 280,000.
