KAOHSIUNG — The 2026 Kaohsiung French Festival drew more than 160,000 visitors over its first two days, with the final day of the event set to close on Sunday at the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts, Weiwuying (衛武營國家藝術文化中心).
According to the city’s Administrative and International Affairs Office, Saturday’s program at Weiwuying continued with a strong French arts theme, including a Boléro dance workshop led by choreographer Chou Shu-yi (周書毅) and nearly 100 community dancers in the outdoor plaza.
The evening lineup included performances by the NSO brass ensemble and a French Radio Philharmonic brass sextet, followed by appearances by Taiwanese-French jazz singer Estelle Perrault (張婷雅) and French musical theater performer John Eyzen.
The city said Sunday’s closing program would include a crêpe Suzette chef show by the InterContinental Kaohsiung, a performance by Golden Melody Award-winning singer Lee Chu-hsin (李竺芯), music by French band Kessada, and talks by French content creator Rémy Gils and chef A-Chen.
Administrative and International Affairs Office Director Chang Yen-ching (張硯卿) said the festival, now in its third year, has continued to grow in both scale and attendance, and said the turnout reflected Kaohsiung’s increasingly international profile.
