KAOHSIUNG — The former National Kaohsiung Commercial & Industrial Vocational School (國際商工) site has been fully cleared, creating a large open parcel now set for north–south dual redevelopment.

    • North side (1.47 ha): National Sun Yat-sen University’s College of Medicine (中山大學醫學院) will establish an AI medical and smart-health research and teaching base, linking with nearby Min-Sheng Hospital (民生醫院), Kaixuan Hospital (凱旋醫院), the long-term care center, and the Department of Health to form a new Health Park.

    • South side (1.49 ha): Planned as an MRT joint-development zone near the C34 Weiquan Elementary School Light Rail Station (五權國小站), bringing mixed-use projects to the corridor.

NSYSU recently appointed former NTU College of Medicine vice dean Hsu Po-chin (許博欽) as vice president to lead the transformation of Kaohsiung Municipal Min-Sheng Hospital into the university’s new teaching hospital.

The site is connected via light rail to the Kaohsiung Machinery Plant redevelopment (高雄機廠) and the 205th Arsenal area. Officials expect major changes in the “fourth quadrant” of the circular line within five years.
