KAOHSIUNG — Toy and card shops across Kaohsiung will host Beyblade X and Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) tournaments during the Oct. 9–11 Double Ten holiday.

Beyblade X players compete by launching spinning tops into an arena. Official G3 store tournaments offer an Open Class for players ages 6 and older, including adults, and a Regular Class for children ages 6 to 12. Entry is free, although registration methods and player limits vary by store.

Fourteen BEYBLADE X G3 tournaments (戰鬥陀螺X G3賽事) are scheduled across Kaohsiung over the Double Ten holiday. The competitive spinning-top game has grown popular in Taiwan this year. G3 is the local level of the official BEYBLADE X tournament system. The tournaments are open to anyone interested in competing.

Players age 6 and older, including adults, can enter the Open Class, while the Regular Class is for ages 6 to 12. The top three can win exclusive gold Beyblade parts. Entry is free, although registration methods vary by store. Details and the full schedule are available on the official Beyblade TW Facebook page.

One of the stores on the G3 schedule, Five Bears Store (五隻熊玩具店) in Fongshan District, is hosting an Open Class G3 event at 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 11. Registration is available on-site, with a limit of 32 players. The shop will also hold three holiday tournaments at 2 p.m. They use G3 rules but are not official G3 events. Entry costs NT$150 to NT$200, with up to 64 players in each tournament. Prizes include Beyblade products and limited-edition tops, with one produced in a run of just 100 worldwide.

Beyblade is not the only game with formal tournaments across Kaohsiung over the holiday. Three Great Ball League (超級球聯盟賽) events for Pokémon TCG (寶可夢集換式卡牌遊戲) are also scheduled in Kaohsiung. The league is part of Taiwan’s official competition system, where players earn league points and top finishers at some events can qualify for the higher-level Ultra Ball League (高級球聯盟賽).

All three events are open to players of all ages. First-time league players are also welcome. Players compete with 60-card Standard decks, with limits ranging from 32 to 70 players. The Oct. 9 event at Milong Pokémon Shop (米朧家) in Renwu District starts at 11 a.m.

Two more tournaments will be held on Oct. 11. DrawMeet (桌覓桌遊) in Lingya District (苓雅區) starts at 8:30 a.m. and has space for 66 players. The venue is on the first floor at #7, Alley 9, Lane 38, Linchuan Street. Action at B ONE (B ONE桌遊) in Fongshan starts at 1 p.m., with a limit of 70 players. Its address is 117 Beiming Street.

Entry is NT$300 at all three events. Advance registration for all three Pokémon events has closed. Prospective players should contact the stores directly to ask about cancellations or standby entry before traveling.

For visitors taking public transportation, Five Bears Store is about a 12-minute walk from Cianjhen Senior High School Station (前鎮高中站). The Milong Pokémon Shop can be reached from HSR Zuoying Station (左營站) by bus — Red 60A or Red 60B — in about 13 minutes. DrawMeet is about a 17-minute walk from Cultural Center Station (文化中心站). From Fongshan Station (鳳山站), bus Orange 16A or Orange 16B takes about 19 minutes to B ONE. The full G3 schedule and venue details are available in the official Beyblade TW schedule.
