KAOHSIUNG — Kaohsiung is promoting the Cijin Kite Festival and Inflatable Water Park as one of the main attractions in a summer tourism campaign covering 23 events across the city.

The Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau (高雄市政府觀光局) said Thursday that the city’s summer program will focus on five themes: outdoor recreation, food, music, local culture, and sports.

The Cijin Kite Festival and Inflatable Water Park (旗津風箏節暨氣墊水樂園) will be held on weekends from July 25 to Aug. 2. The event will feature more than 100 colorful kites flying over Cijin (旗津), along with free water-play facilities for families.

Part of the 2025 Cijin Inflatable Water Park.

Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai (陳其邁) said the city is using its coastal scenery, mountain areas, and cultural diversity to attract visitors during the summer holiday.

Tourism Bureau Director Kao Min-lin (高閔琳) said Shoushan Zoo (壽山動物園) will also offer summer promotions, including free admission for children aged 12 and under. The zoo will extend its weekend opening hours to 6:30 p.m.
