KAOHSIUNG — Kaohsiung residents age 30 and older can enter a city prize drawing after completing an eligible health examination and registering for Taiwan’s national health insurance app.
The Kaohsiung City Health Bureau (高雄市政府衛生局) will run its “Health Check in the Cloud” campaign from Aug. 15 through Oct. 20.
To participate, residents must be registered in Kaohsiung, be at least 30 years old and complete one of four types of examination during the campaign: a government-funded adult preventive health check, a public employee or teacher health check, a labor health examination or a self-funded physical.
For the first drawing, participants must download and register for the “NHI Express | My Health Bank” app, complete the city’s online questionnaire and submit a screenshot showing that they have successfully logged in.
Fifty participants will receive gift cards worth NT$1,500 each.
A second drawing offers 20 gift cards worth NT$3,000. It is open to participants who complete public employee, teacher, labor or self-funded health examinations and sign a consent form allowing their health-check information to be uploaded.
People receiving a government-funded adult preventive health check can enter the NT$1,500 drawing but not the separate NT$3,000 drawing. Anyone selected in both drawings will receive only the NT$3,000 prize.
The campaign’s age requirement should not be confused with eligibility for a free government health check. Not every Kaohsiung resident over 30 is entitled to a new government-funded examination during the campaign.
Under the national adult preventive health program, people ages 30 to 39 can receive one free examination every five years, while those ages 40 to 64 are eligible once every three years. People 65 and older are eligible annually, as are Indigenous people age 55 and older and people age 35 and older who have had polio.
Residents who are not yet due for another government-funded examination can still enter the city campaign if they complete one of the other qualifying examinations.
The NHI Express app provides access to the My Health Bank service, where users can review medical visits, prescriptions, laboratory results and other health information. The app also provides several online National Health Insurance services.
