KAOHSIUNG — French luxury brand Hermès reopened its renovated boutique at Hanshin Department Store (漢神百貨) in Kaohsiung on Aug. 7, marking 30 years of the brand’s presence in southern Taiwan.
Designed by Parisian architecture firm RDAI, the expanded retail space spans two floors, connecting the first floor with the basement level. According to the brand, the interior design incorporates elements inspired by Kaohsiung Harbor (高雄港), including brick facades, oak textures, and color schemes reflecting ocean views and sunsets.
The ground level houses silk accessories, leather goods, fragrances, jewelry, and timepieces, centered around an oak staircase inspired by shipping containers. The lower floor features womenswear, menswear, shoes, home decor, and equestrian collections.
To mark the reopening, the store displayed limited-edition pieces created by the brand’s special order department, Hermès Horizons, including a custom vinyl turntable, leather accessories, and a foosball table. The location also showcased all six existing pieces of the Arceau Flagship miniature enamel watch collection, which feature maritime vessel motifs.
