KAOHSIUNG — The 2026 Taiwan Technology X Culture Expo (台灣文化科技大會), also known as TTXC, opened at the Pier-2 Art Center (駁二藝術特區) on Oct. 9.

The multi-week event focuses on artificial intelligence applications in art, digital content, and cultural preservation.

The expo, which runs through Oct. 26, is co-organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Kaohsiung City Government. According to organizers, the event operates under the theme “All in AI: the Symbiotic Era.” The schedule includes six major exhibitions, 25 international forums, and more than 100 industry matchmaking events.

Programming spans multiple venues across the city, including the VR Film Lab, Kaohsiung Film Archive, and Neiwei Arts Center. Key exhibits include the XR Dreamland film festival, which organizers describe as the largest immersive film festival in Asia, and “Yes, AI Do,” an interactive AI co-creation exhibit featuring an artificial intelligence matchmaking experience. The expo also features a collaborative exhibit with the international electronic music and digital art brand MUTEK.

Government agencies have established dedicated exhibition spaces within the event. The Taiwan Creative Content Agency organized the INNOVATIONS pavilion to focus on commercializing cultural technology, while the Ministry of Digital Affairs planned the DigiWave interactive art exhibition.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs’ Department of Industrial Technology also established a presence at the INNOVATIONS pavilion. According to the Industrial Technology Research Institute (工研院), the institute is collaborating with the Institute for Information Industry to present six advanced cultural technologies. These exhibits showcase generative AI video production, 3D model construction, spatial 3D imaging, and AI-assisted musical accompaniment.

During the opening ceremonies, Minister of Culture Li Yuan (李遠) stated the annual event has developed into a platform for international exchange, connecting creative content with technological platforms and commercial industries. Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai (陳其邁) said the city government is actively supporting the development of arts and culture through AI technology.
The 25 scheduled forums feature over 80 domestic and international professionals from the film, intellectual property, and technology sectors, discussing topics such as virtual production, extended reality, and technological trends, organizers said.
