KAOHSIUNG — Construction of a new administrative center in Gangshan District (岡山區) is scheduled to begin in late July, with two local offices preparing to relocate before redevelopment starts.
The Gangshan District Office (岡山區公所) and Gangshan Land Administration Office (岡山地政事務所) will move by the end of August to temporary space in the Gangshan Farmers’ Association Building (岡山農會綜合大樓). Existing telephone numbers will remain unchanged.

The new center is expected to open by the end of 2029 and will bring six agencies under one roof: the district office, land administration office, household registration office, Gangshan Police Precinct, a fire brigade, and the district cleaning team.

The project is Kaohsiung’s first public urban renewal plan involving coordinated redevelopment across separate sites.

After the agencies move, the current administrative site on Shoutian Road (壽天路) will be redeveloped for residential and commercial use, with pedestrian space, greenery, and public open areas.
Deputy Mayor Charles Lin (林欽榮) said the project forms part of a wider effort to develop Gangshan as a northern Kaohsiung administrative and technology center, supported by MRT expansion and nearby industrial parks.
