KAOHSIUNG — Three nights of live music at Paramount Bar (百樂門酒館) and DJ parties at rooftop bar Le Ciel (天慕) offer two ways to spend the Mid-Autumn Festival weekend.
At Paramount Bar in Sanmin District (三民區), Friday’s Night School: Forbidden Riot (夜間部：禁忌の暴動) features Taiwanese metalcore band Motif Hive and guest act MORE BE US. Guests are encouraged to wear school or work uniforms or cosplay outfits. Admission is NT$600 for those in themed clothing and NT$1,000 otherwise. Ticket sales at the venue begin at 7 p.m., doors open at 7:30 p.m., and music starts at 8 p.m.
Kobe-based trio schizophragm begins its first Taiwan tour at Paramount Bar on Saturday, Sept. 26. The group plays psychedelic rock with a heavy, noisy sound and positions its drum kit at the center of the stage. Its handmade EPs, nui (2024) and sphragis (2025), quickly sold out at Japanese record shops.
Kaohsiung punk band Nuclear Fish Market (輻射魚市) is among the opening acts for schizophragm. Tickets are NT$500 in advance, NT$700 at the door, and NT$300 for students. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., with performances beginning at 8 p.m.
Japanese instrumental group MCNI takes the stage Sunday, Sept. 27, on its Taiwan tour for Chrono Pulse. Kaohsiung band Mint Green Mill (薄荷綠工廠) and student band Universe Database (宇宙資料庫) are also on the bill. Advance tickets cost NT$500, or NT$550 at the door. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., and performances begin at 8 p.m. Ticket links for all three shows are available through Paramount Bar.
Across town, Le Ciel, atop TAi Urban Resort (承億酒店), has three themed DJ nights. DJs 77 and Huncto play 2000s hip-hop and R&B on Friday. Saturday’s party has a denim theme, with DJs Layla and Justy. Sunday’s all-white party features DJs Alice and Young, and guests are encouraged to wear silver accessories. Friday’s event has free entry with a minimum spend of NT$600; check the venue’s latest posts for admission details on the other nights.
Paramount Bar is about a 20-minute walk from Kaohsiung Main Station (高雄車站). Le Ciel is about an eight-minute walk from Kaohsiung Exhibition Center Station (高雄展覽館).
