KAOHSIUNG — Police arrested a 32-year-old man suspected of operating a drug delivery service disguised under the name of a pizza chain, seizing hundreds of drug packets and NT$80,000 in cash.
In an Oct. 15 statement, Kaohsiung police said investigators discovered the operation through online patrols and intelligence gathering. The suspect allegedly used a messaging app to sell ketamine and drug mixtures packaged in instant-coffee sachets.
Officers tracked his vehicle in Sanmin District (三民區) in early October. When he drove into an alley to meet a suspected buyer, police surrounded the vehicle and ordered him out.
Police arrested the man, identified by his surname Chen (陳), at the scene. Police said they seized more than 300 drug-laced coffee sachets, more than 20 packets of ketamine and NT$80,000 in suspected drug proceeds.
The case was referred to the Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office (高雄地方檢察署) for investigation under the Narcotics Hazard Prevention Act (毒品危害防制條例).
Police did not identify the pizza chain allegedly named. Their statement did not suggest that the actual business was involved.
