KAOHSIUNG — Canadian author and podcast host Tyrel Cameron Eskelson will join Formosa Files hosts John Ross and Eryk Smith for a Taiwan 22 book evening at The Hub on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Eskelson, a Japan-based academic, traveled around Taiwan to explore the people and places behind the international headlines. His book, Taiwan 22: Travels in Paradox, draws on encounters ranging from Indigenous ceremonies to visits to the offshore islands. Hear more in his Formosa Files interview.
The evening will feature books, travel stories and conversation. Copies of Taiwan 22 and selected Plum Rain Press novels will be available at special event prices. Guests are welcome to bring their own drinks.
To reach The Hub, take the MRT Orange Line to Wukuaicuo Station (五塊厝站), Exit 4. Turn left toward Wukuaicuo Park (五塊厝公園) and walk toward the far end. The Hub is in the building that somewhat resembles a temple.
