KAOHSIUNG — The National Science and Technology Museum (國立科學工藝博物館) has reopened its upgraded “Energy-Smart House” exhibition, offering visitors an interactive look at how energy-efficient design and daily choices can support Taiwan’s net-zero goals.

Located in the museum’s southern campus, the two-story demonstration house integrates energy-saving building materials, high-efficiency appliances, and clean energy technologies, presenting a realistic household setting. Visitors begin by collecting an “energy challenge card” and earn points through hands-on activities comparing electricity use among common home appliances such as refrigerators and air conditioners. QR-code simulations allow participants to “shop” for appliances while learning to read energy efficiency labels.

Additional features include interactive quizzes on household electricity consumption, a podcast recording booth where visitors can share personal energy-saving tips, and a final energy-awareness assessment before exiting the exhibit.

Museum officials said the revamped Energy-Smart House is designed for families, school groups, and guided tours, making abstract sustainability concepts tangible through everyday scenarios. Group reservations can be made through the museum.
