KAOHSIUNG — Taiwan International Ports Corp. (TIPC, 台灣港務公司) announced Monday that it recorded NT$23.53 billion in revenue in 2025, marking the highest annual total in the company’s history.
The state-run operator said international cruise traffic has fully rebounded from the pandemic, with 567 cruise ship calls last year carrying approximately 1.16 million passengers, surpassing pre-COVID levels. A photo released by the company showed the Norwegian Sun docked at Kaohsiung Port’s passenger terminal.
TIPC also cited the latest 2025 global container port rankings by Norwegian classification society DNV, which placed Kaohsiung Port ninth worldwide. The ranking assessed multiple indicators, including supply-chain support, international route connectivity, customer satisfaction, cargo-handling capacity, vessel calls, annual growth, and environmental performance, such as carbon reduction, green shipping, and shore power infrastructure.
The company said it completed 18 major investment projects last year, attracting about NT$8.9 billion in private capital. These projects span container shipping, offshore wind power, green energy, and logistics warehousing.
Through cruise incentives, fare discounts, overseas marketing, and cooperation with shipping lines, TIPC said cruise tourism continued to expand steadily.
Looking ahead to 2026, the company plans to upgrade external transport links, improve port and cruise tourism services, expand smart operations and AI applications, and promote its “one port, one specialty” development strategy.
