    Kaohsiung Opens NT$3,500 Rental Housing Program for Working Families

    KAOHSIUNG — The Kaohsiung City Government has opened applications for a low-cost rental housing program aimed at easing housing pressure for working families, offering apartments with monthly rents set at NT$3,500.

    According to the Kaohsiung City Labor Affairs Bureau, a total of seven units are available under the current round. These include four apartments in the Cianfong East area along Jiouru 4th Road (九如四路) and three units in the Fusing West area near Yisin 2nd Road (一心二路). Each unit is approximately 28 ping in size, or about 92 square meters.

    Applications are being accepted through January 31, 2026.

    Eligibility requirements

    The bureau said applicants must meet all eligibility criteria to qualify. Applicants must be at least 20 years old and have been registered as residents of Kaohsiung for a minimum of six months. They must also fall into one of the following employment categories: Employees of businesses registered in Kaohsiung. Self-employed workers or freelancers who are members of Kaohsiung-based industrial or occupational unions. Workers without fixed employers, and skilled workers or labor staff employed by Kaohsiung City Government agencies

    In addition, the applicant, their spouse, and direct family members living together must total at least three people, and none may own residential property.

    Lease terms and selection process

    Qualified applications will be reviewed and entered into a lottery-based selection process, the bureau said. Successful applicants will be offered a two-year lease, with the option to renew up to three times, subject to a review of their eligibility.

    How to apply

    Application forms are available free of charge at the Labor Affairs Bureau service counter on the first floor or at the Vocational Rehabilitation Division on the sixth floor. Forms may also be downloaded from the bureau’s official website under the “Latest News” section.
