The Central Weather Administration (中央氣象署) issued a heavy rain advisory Monday morning for nine cities and counties, including Kaohsiung and Pingtung, as moist southwesterly winds continued to affect Taiwan.
Kaohsiung has many low-floor buses, but a spokesperson for an advocacy group says the bus stops themselves often do not match the needs of passengers. City Councilor Chiu Chun-hsien (邱俊憲) said that hospital bus stops may technically meet accessibility rules, but officials should also consider how passengers actually use them.

The mushrooms were seen in green areas near the Beimen Borough (北門里) activity center. While the mushrooms may look harmless, the Public Works Bureau’s Parks Office (工務局公園處) stated that they are likely green-spored parasol mushrooms, a poisonous species that should not be eaten or handled casually. The site is within walking distance of Zuoying Station and a short drive from the HSR, Taiwan Railways, and Kaohsiung Metro transfer area at Zuoying, giving it one of the strongest transport locations in the city.
The Tainan Tourism Bureau (台南市政府觀光旅遊局) said it has trained seven certified sign-language guides, including two with Class B sign-language interpreter certification. The Pingtung Department of Transportation and Tourism (屏東縣政府交通旅遊處), citing Tourism Administration figures, said South Korean visitors made up nearly 12% of all arrivals to Taiwan last year. About 116,000 South Korean travelers visited Pingtung, the department said.
A free exhibition featuring artist Chang Li-jen’s (張立人) highly detailed “Battle City” series is now open at Neiwei Arts Center (內惟藝術中心), giving visitors a chance to walk through a miniature urban world built over 14 years.
