KAOHSIUNG — Five MRT construction contracts spanning the Siaogang–Linyuan extension (小港林園線), Gangshan–Lujhu extension (岡山路竹延伸線) and Yellow Line (黃線) have received honors at the 2026 City Engineering Quality Gold Awards (城市工程品質金質獎).
The Siaogang–Linyuan extension’s RLC01 contract received the competition’s highest distinction, the special excellence gold award (特優金質獎), according to the Mass Rapid Transit Bureau’s announcement. The other four contracts received gold awards, with two Yellow Line contracts also recognized for occupational health and safety.

The bureau identified the contractors as RSEA Engineering (榮工工程) for RLC01, Far Eastern Construction (遠揚營造) for RKC02, Te Chang Construction (德昌營造) for the depot works, Gamuda (金務大工程) for YC01 and Kung Sing Engineering (工信工程) for YC03.
Now in its 12th year, the awards are jointly organized by the city’s architects, structural engineers and civil engineers associations, with the Kaohsiung Architects Association (高雄市建築師公會) serving as this year’s executing organization.
The bureau said judges from industry, government and academia conducted site inspections to assess construction quality, technical expertise and safety management. The awards recognize individual construction contracts within the wider MRT expansion program.
