TAIPEI — Foxtron Vehicle Technologies has received more than 1,000 advance orders for its Bria electric vehicle, as the company prepares to begin production at its new electric bus manufacturing plant in Kaohsiung later this year, according to company chairman Li Ping-yen (李秉彥). Foxtron Inc., or Foxtron Vehicle Technologies, has operated since 2020 as a joint venture between the technology company Foxconn and the car company Yulon.

UDN reports that speaking on Thursday after a signing event for an electric bus replacement program in Keelung, Li said limited Bria deliveries have already begun and will gradually increase in the coming weeks as production scales up. The Bria model, launched in late 2025, is Foxtron’s first electric vehicle developed in Taiwan with an overseas market focus.

Foxtron’s new electric bus facility in Ciaotou, Kaohsiung, is expected to enter operation between late March and early April. The plant will primarily manufacture second-generation Model T electric buses. While the factory’s designed annual capacity is around 500 units, Foxtron expects output in 2026 to exceed 250 buses as production ramps up.

Li said current orders already exceed initial capacity and expressed optimism that the plant could reach full utilization by late 2027. Foxtron is also continuing cooperation with Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation on electric bus development, using the Model T and Model U platforms.

Despite uncertainty surrounding imported vehicle tariffs, Li said the company remains cautiously optimistic about demand in both domestic and overseas commercial vehicle markets.
