Browsing: Art in Kaohsiung
An exhibit of the “Tentacles” art attack series by Filthy Luker and Pedro Estrellas is now on display at Kaohsiung’s Chengcing Lake Tourist Center.
The centerpiece of the 2026 program is a major autumn retrospective of British conceptual art pioneer Michael Craig-Martin, marking his first large-scale solo exhibition in Asia.
The exhibition, titled “Sacred Waters: Cultural Beliefs and Folklore in the Gaoping River Basin” (這條河很神!高屏溪流域的信仰故事), opened Monday at the Kaohsiung Museum of History.
“Out of Register: Celebrating Craft, Color, and Collaboration” was a reminder of what makes Kaohsiung’s creative community special…not just the finished work, but the warm, direct connection between artist and audience.
