Deputy Mayor Lin Chin-jung says Nanzih’s new freeway connection will be completed by December 2028. The NT$15.591 billion project is intended to ease traffic around the semiconductor park, but construction is currently causing congestion.
The first 880 meters of the NT$98.4 billion Kaohsiung-Pingtung Second Expressway will break ground in Jiuru on Sept. 28, beginning work on a route expected to reach Zuoying in 2033.
Construction of Gangshan’s planned second National Freeway 1 interchange could begin in September, with the NT$4.38 billion project intended to relieve traffic serving northern Kaohsiung’s industrial areas.
