PINGTUNG — Music, a market and a drone show will take over Xiaoliuqiu (小琉球) on Oct. 17 as Pingtung County stages its “2026 Xiaodao Yetai (小島野台) festival” at the island’s heliport. Activities begin at 4 p.m., with food and merchandise stalls alongside street performances featuring music and magic.
The outdoor concert starts at 7 p.m., with a lineup including Lo Shih-feng (羅時豐), Rachel Liang (梁文音), Huang Wei-jin (黃偉晉), Hsu Wei-hsiang (徐暐翔), Lin Ting-han (林亭翰), Sheng En (聖恩) and Willy Chien (簡嘉彣). Organizers said the program will feature solo performances and collaborations between singers.
According to the official event schedule, the market and concert run until 10 p.m., followed by an eight-minute show using 200 drones to create eight designs reflecting the island.
The event also marks the start of the county’s “2026 Pingtung Light Journey” (屏東光旅) nighttime tourism initiative. Street illuminations along Minsheng Road (民生路) and Zhongshan Road (中山路) will operate from 5:30 to 10 p.m. daily, from Oct. 17 through Jan. 3, 2027.
The county’s Department of Information and International Affairs said the activities are intended to encourage longer stays and support local tourism and businesses. Visitors who bring a turtle-shaped item can redeem it for one turtle-shaped ice pop, while those completing a social media check-in task from 6 p.m. can receive a novelty handheld light, while supplies last.
