KAOHSIUNG — A mountain rally race in Kaohsiung’s Liugui (Liouguei) District (六龜區) is set to draw about 100 race cars and 200 professional drivers this weekend, with organizers also planning food stalls, performances and supercar displays for visitors.

The 2026 Liouguei Mountain Town Rally (六龜山城拉力賽) will be held Saturday and Sunday as part of the THC Liouguei Rally and Hill Climb National Class B Championship, organizers said.

The Liberty Times reports that the route will use Liouguei’s winding mountain roads, with sharp turns and changing terrain expected to test drivers’ handling skills and reaction times. Spectators will be able to watch the cars up close and experience the sound and speed of the competition, organizers said.

A supercar display area will also be set up during the event, giving car enthusiasts a chance to see several high-performance vehicles and mechanical designs.

Liouguei District Chief Liou Wen-chia (劉文甲) said the event would also feature the “Fun Liouguei Market” (趣六龜市集), bringing together local agricultural products, specialty foods and cultural-creative vendors.

Opening performances will include a cheerleading team from Fooyin University (輔英科技大學), Just 4 Fun Band, diabolo performers and an electronic music DJ from Shu-Te University (樹德科技大學). Closing performances will include acoustic guitar music, stunt shows, magic and juggling acts, and a performance by Diaper Band.

Organizers said the event is intended to showcase both motorsports and Liouguei’s mountain scenery, encouraging visitors to experience the district through competition, local food and outdoor activities.
