KAOHSIUNG — Applications for the city-built Daliao Social Housing complex will open Aug. 6, with 384 units available near the MRT Orange Line’s Daliao Station, the Kaohsiung Urban Development Bureau said.
The city will announce rental details on July 27, and applications will be accepted from Aug. 6 to Aug. 25.
Applicants must be adult ROC citizens who either have household registration in Kaohsiung or study or work in the city.
Household members must not own a home in Kaohsiung, and the average monthly income per household member must not exceed NT$59,395.
The complex is Kaohsiung’s second social housing project built directly by the city government. It is located next to Exit 2 of Daliao Station (大寮站), giving it what officials described as a “home as soon as you leave the station” advantage.
Urban Development Bureau Director Wu Wen-yen (吳文彥) said construction, handled by the Water Resources Bureau, is nearly complete. Leasing, operations, and management will be handled by the Kaohsiung Housing and Urban Renewal Center.
The project includes studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom units.
To expand support for older residents and young families, the city said 164 units will be available for priority households, including 16 units reserved for a senior living program.
Another 154 units will be designated for marriage and child-rearing households. Eligible applicants include people married within the past two years and families with minor children.
The city said the project is intended to support seniors, young families, and residents who need affordable rental housing near public transportation.
