KAOHSIUNG — The Kaohsiung Fried Chicken Festival (高雄鹹酥雞嘉年華) is scheduled to return Oct. 24–25, bringing 88 food and beverage brands to the ground-floor Dream Plaza (追夢廣場) outside Far Eastern Department Store Kaohsiung (高雄大遠百).

The event runs from 3 to 9 p.m. both days. Now in its sixth year, it will feature Taiwanese fried chicken, seafood, international dishes, vegetarian options, and drinks, according to the Kaohsiung Tourism Bureau’s announcement.

Vendors include local fried chicken shops, visiting brands and hotel restaurants. An earlier festival announcement highlighted limited-edition dishes incorporating salted egg yolk, alongside the usual range of fried snacks. The program includes cooking demonstrations, live music, dance performances and children’s games. Fitness instructor Eddie Pan (潘若迪) is scheduled to lead an aerobics session on Oct. 25. Reusable tableware will be available to rent on site.

Visitors can take the MRT Red Line to Sanduo Shopping District Station (三多商圈站), Exit 1, or walk from the light rail’s Kaohsiung Exhibition Center Station (高雄展覽館站). The venue is marked on Google Maps.

With Typhoon Champi potentially bringing rain to southern Taiwan around the weekend, visitors should check Kaohsiung Travel for schedule updates before setting out.
