KAOHSIUNG — A cultural performance event highlighting music and traditions from Taiwan’s Caribbean diplomatic allies is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 27, at the Pier Garden (渡船頭啤酒花園), organizers announced.

The free public event, titled “Island Vibes – International Diplomatic Exchange,” will focus on island cultures from places such as St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Belize – with people from these partner nations presenting DJ sets and dance performances.

The Facebook event page notes that it begins on Friday the 27th at 3 pm and says, “Free Entry – Free San Miguel 4 pm-5 pm 免費入場 | 四點到五點生力啤酒也可以免費喝到飽.”

Organizers say the concept is to create an accessible live experience that introduces audiences to the music, artistic styles, and cultural traditions of Taiwan’s Caribbean diplomatic partners. By framing the program as a relaxed waterfront performance, the event aims to attract both internationally minded residents and general visitors who may be encountering these cultures for the first time.

The open-air harbor venue was selected to support casual audience movement and interaction between performers and the public, allowing visitors to participate briefly or stay for longer segments of the show.

The Island Vibes – International Diplomatic Exchange event was organized in cooperation with the Formosa Files Cultural Collective Performance Group and with support from the Frank C. Chen Foundation.
