KAOHSIUNG — Democratic Progressive Party lawmaker Lin Tai-hua (林岱樺), who failed to secure the party’s nomination in the Kaohsiung mayoral primary, has confirmed she is sticking with the DPP. Lin said leaving the party was “not an option,” according to CTiTV.

Lin said she had already congratulated the nominated candidate and would fully support the party’s pick, arguing that “Kaohsiung cannot lose, and the DPP cannot split.” She said she would move quickly to contact and visit the nominee, offering public feedback and policy materials gathered during the primary, and would step to the front line if needed to help with post-primary unity efforts.

Lin also urged supporters to keep their focus on governance rather than internal infighting, saying residents expect better industry development, stronger social support, and improved city management. She said she would continue pushing for Kaohsiung resources and construction as a legislator, and would carry key primary policy ideas into the legislature and central government decision-making, with an emphasis on industrial upgrading, city resilience, and social care policies.
