KAOHSIUNG — The Kaohsiung City Government (高雄市政府) and Radium Life Tech Group (日勝生集團) signed an NT$8.85 billion contract April 29 to redevelop a site at World Games Station (世運站, R17), as the city expands support facilities for the semiconductor supply chain around Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (台積電, TSMC) facilities in Nanzih (楠梓).

The China Times reports that the project covers about 4,200 ping and is planned to include a 21-story office tower, an 18-story dormitory building, a three-story shopping mall, and a 150-meter pedestrian bridge linking the site to the MRT station.

City officials said the office tower will provide about 17,000 ping of Grade A office space, while the dormitory building will include 618 rooms for workers.

Deputy Mayor Lin Chin-rong (林欽榮) said the project is intended to meet rising demand from semiconductor professionals as TSMC’s facilities in Nanzih move forward.

Southern Taiwan Science Park Bureau (南部科學園區管理局) Director-General Cheng Hsiu-jung (鄭秀絨) said the project would provide office and housing space that is difficult to accommodate inside the densely developed Nanzih technology park area.

Construction is scheduled to begin in November 2026, with completion targeted for late 2030.

The site is located beside the World Games Station on the Kaohsiung MRT Red Line.
