From January through August last year, the city recorded 52 bamboo viper captures, including 27 in Sinhua alone, again accounting for more than half the total. Guanmiao had eight during the same period.

The city says it plans to expand pet-friendly public spaces, strengthen enforcement against abuse and neglect, promote responsible pet ownership through registration and sterilization programs, and embed animal-friendly principles into transportation, tourism, housing, and community education.
