The finale event of the 2026 Kaohsiung Winter Amusement Park, titled “Great Harbor Youth Defense Team” (大港青年防衛隊), attracted more than 80,000 visitors over two days, with the popular “Tokusatsu Miniature City” (特攝微縮城市) exhibition set to relocate to Kaohsiung MRT’s Central Park Station (中央公園站) for an extended display.

Kaohsiung Youth Bureau Director Lin Kai-hsuan (林楷軒) said the event centered on digital empowerment and cross-disciplinary aesthetics, inviting local young creators to participate. The exhibition successfully directed foot traffic toward youth innovation brands and family-friendly markets. Due to strong public response, plans are underway to move the miniature city display into the MRT station, bringing the works into a daily public commuting space.
The miniature city features scaled recreations of iconic Kaohsiung landmarks such as the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas (龍虎塔), the 85 Sky Tower (85大樓), the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (衛武營), and the Kaohsiung Music Center (高流), styled in a Showa-era tokusatsu aesthetic. The works were created by the local team Thunder God Art Studio (雷神藝術工作室), known for its expertise in 3D modeling and creative design.

Another local group, Good Vision Design (好視設計), developed four original monster characters inspired by Kaohsiung’s architectural vocabulary and integrated them into an AR immersive “monster battle” experience. Using augmented reality, visitors can engage in virtual-versus-real battles with the monsters at five harbor-area landmarks via their smartphones.
The Youth Bureau said the event demonstrated the strength of Kaohsiung’s youth creative ecosystem and showed that combining tech-driven curation with market-style events can effectively boost visitor flow and consumer spending. Cross-industry partnerships with Taiwan Tigerair (台灣虎航), Peach Aviation (樂桃航空), and AirAsia (亞洲航空) also helped expand the event’s visibility despite variable weather.
Following widespread praise, the “Tokusatsu Miniature City” exhibition will soon be installed at Central Park Station, with further details to be announced on the Youth Bureau’s official website and social media platforms.
