KAOHSIUNG — The 2026 Namasia Firefly and Peach Season (2026 那瑪夏賞螢暨水蜜桃季) will take place from March 20 to April 30, the Kaohsiung City Government announced Tuesday.

Namasia District (那瑪夏區) is home to 15 species of fireflies and serves as one of the most prominent ecological tourism destinations in southern Taiwan. Mayor Chen Chi-mai (陳其邁) stated that a visit to the district during the firefly season is a “once-in-a-lifetime” experience, noting that international tourists from Malaysia and Hong Kong have previously traveled to the remote area specifically for the event.

The Namasia District Office (那瑪夏區公所) has organized five primary viewing trails for the 2026 season: Nanshalu (南沙魯), the Old Minquan Platform (舊民權平台), Labizania (拉比鮺尼亞), Takanua (達卡努瓦), and Valas (發拉斯). To manage the influx of visitors, shuttle buses will be provided on weekends.
Officials have introduced several updates for this year’s festival, including a reduction in the basic admission fee from NT$250 to NT$200. Children under the age of two are eligible for free entry. In addition to firefly viewing, the district has scheduled concerts featuring Indigenous performers and bands every Saturday and during public holidays in April. Other attractions include a riverside “floating market,” a water castle, and local agricultural stalls.
Tour packages are available in three tiers: a half-day itinerary for NT$1,000, and two full-day options priced at NT$1,550 and NT$1,750, respectively. Detailed information regarding trail conditions and event schedules is available through the Namasia Firefly Season official website and social media channels.
