KAOHSIUNG — Kaohsiung’s Liugui District (六龜區) will host a temporary weekend water park in May, as the city promotes Baolai (寶來) as a family-friendly mountain getaway with water slides, local markets, hot springs, and ecology tours.

The Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau (高雄市政府觀光局) said the Mountain Town Water Park (山城水樂園) will run every weekend from May 2 to May 24 at the Baolai Second Parking Lot (寶來第二停車場), from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The site will feature large inflatable water slides and paddling pools for children. Admission will be free for visitors who show receipts totaling NT$500 or more from participating businesses in Liugui.

The bureau said the event is part of the final month of the Liugui Spring Tour Season (六龜湯旅春遊季), which has promoted the district’s hot springs, flowers, ecology sites, and local food since March.

A small market will also be held at the venue, featuring Liugui mountain tea, snacks, and local products. Tourism Bureau Director Kao Min-lin (高閔琳) said Liugui is renowned for both its hot springs and native mountain tea, and encouraged visitors to make the event a full-day trip.
