KAOHSIUNG — Tickets for tethered rides at the 2026 Kaohsiung Love · Moon Hot Air Balloon Festival (2026高雄愛 – 月熱氣球) will go on sale at noon Wednesday, with flights planned at two locations over three weekends.

Tickets cost NT$500 per person and will be available through the ibon ticketing system.
The festival opens at Tianliao Moon World (田寮月世界), where rides will be offered from Sept. 25 to 28 and again Oct. 3 and 4. The event then moves to Love River (愛河) for the Double Ten holiday weekend from Oct. 9 to 11.

The two venues offer sharply different views of Kaohsiung. Moon World is known for its exposed mudstone ridges and badlands, while the Love River site provides an aerial view of the city center and waterfront.

Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau (高雄市政府觀光局) Director Kao Min-lin (高閔琳) said two standard balloons would be used for passenger rides. A 28-meter balloon shaped like the city mascot, Kaohsiung Bear (高雄熊), will also appear at the festival but will be used for display rather than passenger flights.

Food and cultural markets, picnicking areas, and music performances are also planned, according to the city’s official event listing.

Morning flight sessions are scheduled from approximately 6 a.m. to 8 a.m., with afternoon sessions from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
All flights depend on weather conditions. Balloon crews will assess conditions before each session and may delay or cancel rides if flying is considered unsafe.

The Tourism Bureau advised ticket holders to check its official website and social media pages for updates before traveling to either venue.
