KAOHSIUNG/TAICHUNG — A woman from Taichung, identified by the pseudonym “A-mei” (阿美), told investigators she lost consciousness for about two days after drinking what she described as “sweet water” (甜甜的水) at a motel, later waking to signs that she had been sexually assaulted.
According to court documents, she met a man surnamed Huang, whom she had previously connected with online, and the two went out for sushi together. After the meal, Amei began to feel dizzy and weak. Huang suggested they rest at a motel and drove her there. Inside the room, Huang handed her a cup of water, which she described as tasting “sweet.” Shortly after drinking it, she lost consciousness.
