KAOHSIUNG — Taiwanese technology entrepreneur Fox Hsiao (蕭上農) will examine how Taiwan’s founders and engineers could contribute to national defense during an online webinar on Aug. 26.
Hsiao is a co-founder of the technology news site INSIDE and the recipe platform iCook. He is also the author of The Iron Legion, which explores the development of defense technology companies.
The webinar, titled “From Tech Entrepreneurship to Taiwan’s Defense,” will look at how artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, semiconductors, and other technologies are changing modern defense. Hsiao will also discuss lessons from US defense technology companies such as Anduril and the opportunities that may exist for Taiwanese startups and engineering teams.
The hour-long event will begin at 6 p.m. Taiwan time. It will include a 25-minute presentation followed by a moderated discussion and questions from the audience.
The event is being organized by the Southern Taiwan Technology Council, an independent, community-led group connecting technology professionals, entrepreneurs, researchers, and students across southern Taiwan.
