Kaohsiung is moving to a “producer pays” system for food waste, charging businesses and institutions that haul scraps to designated sites at three city incinerators. City officials say the plan helps cover long-term treatment costs and aligns with Taiwan’s shift away from feeding kitchen waste to pigs.<

Opening Dec. 27, Panhua Park was redesigned from the old 三民一號公園 (Sanmin Park No. 1) beginning in June 2024, with a focus on restoring severely saline soil, reducing hard surfaces, and increasing green coverage.
