The United Daily News reported that Taichung’s Blue Line has not yet begun main civil construction, but its original budget of NT$161.5 billion is no longer sufficient. The Taichung Mass Rapid Transit Bureau estimates that the project may require nearly NT$100 billion more to complete the 11 underground stations.

Initial reports indicated that one officer was thrown from the aircraft during the impact and was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The second officer became trapped in the wreckage due to severe damage to the aircraft. Rescue crews worked to remove him from the wreckage, but he also died.

The Education Bureau said it is drafting guidelines to help schools decide when to activate the communication mechanism before formally accepting a case. Outside professionals are expected to be brought in to assist schools, including representatives from principal associations, teacher groups, parent groups, counseling and guidance specialists, and legal professionals.

Mayor Chen said the city would expand contracted counseling institutions, provide funding for stress-management and emotional-support courses in schools, and use the employee assistance program to connect teachers with medical and mental-health resources. He also said the KH Education Bureau had been asked to identify problems reported by frontline educators and bring in cross-departmental resources, including psychologists, social workers, and medical institutions.

Festival hours are set for 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, and 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. The city is encouraging visitors to use public transportation, with the site accessible from Weiwuying Station (衛武營站) on the Orange Line via Exit 6.
