TAITUNG — The 2026 East Coast Land Art Festival is returning for its 12th year under the theme “Become the Ocean” (身即海洋), with a summer program that will again turn Taitung’s coastline into an open-air stage for music, art, and cultural exchange.

The festival’s centerpiece, the Moonlight Sea Concert, will run across eight performances on June 21-22, July 30-31, Aug. 29-30, and Sept. 28-29 at Torik Visitor Center in Chenggong Township (成功鎮). Organizers say the concerts will again lean on the site’s “no walls” setting, with the Pacific, moonlight, and changing skies helping shape each show.

This year’s lineup will include performers from Taiwan and abroad, including acts from Okinawa and Mongolia, while singer Maggie Chiang (江美琪) is set to appear on July 30. The Aug. 30 program will also feature Nymphia Wind (妮妃雅・瘋), the 2024 winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 16, as part of a diversity-themed event.

Beyond the concert stage, the festival’s broader arts platform is already underway, with exhibitions, talks, markets, and travel experiences launching from April. Organizers say this year’s residency and installation program will include local Paiwan artists as well as invited creators from South Korea, Malaysia, and New Zealand, extending the festival’s land-art corridor along Highway 11 and into related exhibition spaces in Taitung and Green Island. The festival is also continuing its low-plastic artisan market and concert shuttle services.

One important detail for visitors: Aug. 29 is the ticketed concert date, while the other Moonlight Sea sessions are reportedly free.
