PINGTUNG — Registration for the 2026 Pingtung Kenting Japan Airlines International Marathon (屏東墾丁日本航空國際馬拉松) has been extended through Oct. 9, giving runners more time to register for the Nov. 15 event.
The races will begin and finish at Kenting’s Dawan Lawn (墾丁大灣草坪). Participants can choose from a 42-kilometer marathon, 21-kilometer half marathon, 12-kilometer challenge race, and 4-kilometer fun run.
Entry fees are NT$1,400 for the full marathon, NT$1,200 for the half marathon, NT$1,000 for the 12-kilometer race, and NT$800 for the fun run. Registration and full race regulations are available on the event website.
Organizers have assembled nearly 150 prizes worth more than NT$550,000. Runners who finish their registered distance will be eligible for prize drawings, including 30 awards of 20,000 Japan Airlines Mileage Bank miles.
The male and female winners of the full and half marathons will also receive ASICS Metaspeed racing shoes in addition to the scheduled cash and mileage prizes.
Groups of at least 10 runners that include participants in the full or half marathon can enter a separate team drawing. Organizers are also holding a costume contest, with accommodation vouchers and other prizes available for selected participants.
Additional drawing prizes include hotel stays in Kenting, hot-spring admission, household appliances and products from Pingtung businesses. The Pingtung County Transportation and Tourism Department (屏東縣政府交通旅遊處) said the prizes are intended to connect the race with tourism and local businesses.
A runners’ event will be held at the Howard Beach Resort Kenting on Nov. 14, followed by the races early Sunday morning. Organizers said paper cups will not be provided at the venue or aid stations, and participants should bring reusable cups.
The marathon and half marathon are limited to runners aged 18 or older. Entrants in the 12-kilometer race must be at least 15, while the 4-kilometer fun run has no general age restriction. Children aged 6 or younger must be accompanied by an adult.
KHT previously reported that the races will follow routes through the Kenting area near Taiwan’s southernmost point.
