KAOHSIUNG — Startup founders are pitching their business ideas to investors and judges Friday as the Kaohsiung regional round of the Startup World Cup enters its final day.

The two-day competition began Thursday and wraps up today at InterContinental Kaohsiung (高雄洲際酒店). It is part of a global series organized by Pegasus Tech Ventures, which brings together startups, venture capital firms, and technology executives.
Organizers say the Startup World Cup includes more than 100 regional competitions across six continents. The winner in Kaohsiung will advance to the global competition, scheduled for Nov. 4–6 at Hilton Union Square in San Francisco.

The eventual world champion will receive a US$1 million investment (not a cash prize).
Winners in the Kaohsiung competition had not been announced at the time of publication.
