Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) will introduce a revised timetable starting Feb. 2, 2026, expanding late-night service and adjusting stopping patterns. Under the new schedule, six additional late-night southbound trains will be added each week, bringing the total number of weekly THSR services to 1,134. The expansion seeks to strengthen late-evening return options for passengers traveling from northern Taiwan to central and southern cities.

One of the most notable changes is a new express-style southbound option. Train No. 1985 will depart Nangang Station at 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, stopping only at Taipei and Banqiao before continuing directly to Tainan and then Zuoying. The streamlined route will cut travel time to approximately 83 minutes from Taipei to Tainan and 95 minutes to Zuoying, offering a significantly faster late-night option for travelers heading to Tainan and Kaohsiung.

In addition, Train No. 1575 will operate on Saturday nights at 10:30 p.m., stopping at Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, and Taichung, providing greater flexibility for passengers traveling to central and southern metropolitan areas.

THSR said the late-night services will feature flexible stopping patterns to reduce overall travel times and advised passengers to carefully review station stops when traveling late at night.
