TAINAN — The Tainan Work-for-Good Volunteer Team (台南做工行善團) spent their Sunday morning in Guantian District (官田區), racing against the clock to finish a home renovation for a vulnerable resident before the Lunar New Year. The project marks the 322nd house completed by the group, which consists of professional painters, carpenters, and electricians who volunteer their weekends.

The recipient of the latest project is a woman surnamed Chen (陳) from the Pinuyumayan (卑南族) community. Living alone on a basic senior allowance, Chen’s home was severely damaged during a previous typhoon. The volunteer painters finished the final coats of paint today, ensuring she will have a safe and refurbished home before the holidays. Tainan officials praised the team’s long-term commitment to rural social welfare, noting that their work fills a critical gap in government-led housing initiatives.
