KAOHSIUNG — Some Air Supply fans arrived at Kaohsiung Music Center on Oct. 24 only to discover their concert had been postponed until next July, after Typhoon Champi disrupted flights carrying essential equipment.
The duo’s A Matter of Time Tour concert, originally scheduled for 2 p.m., has been moved to July 24, 2027, with an additional performance announced for July 25 at the same venue. Members Graham Russell, 76, and Russell Hitchcock, 77, had already reached Taiwan, but organizers said suitable replacement equipment could not be found locally.
Fans interviewed by Formosa TV said they had not received notice before making the trip. Some had traveled from other parts of Taiwan, including one attendee who came from Yilan via Nangang. Others had arrived in Kaohsiung the previous day and paid for overnight accommodation.
One attendee said they checked for information only after noticing that nobody appeared to be entering the venue. Another questioned why essential equipment had not arrived before the performers.
The organizer’s postponement announcement on KKTIX is dated Oct. 23. It attributes the disruption to canceled flights carrying overseas production equipment and apologizes for the inconvenience. In a video message reported by FTV, Russell and Hitchcock expressed regret and announced their return dates.
Existing tickets will be accepted for the July 24 replacement concert without exchange. Ticket holders unable to attend can apply for a full refund through Dec. 31, 2026. Those who have already collected physical tickets must mail them with the required refund form; instructions for each payment and collection method are available on the KKTIX event page.
