While TSMC is preparing to mass-produce 2 nm chips for customers such as Apple and Nvidia—pushing the technology frontier forward by roughly three additional nodes—China is still grappling with the economic viability and stability of 7 nm production.
Foxconn will invest NT$15.9 billion (US$509.94 million) to build its Kaohsiung headquarters in southern Taiwan. That would include a mixed-use commercial and office building and a residential tower, it said. Construction is scheduled to start in 2027, with completion targeted for 2033.
The project is targeting three main buyer groups: professionals linked to industries associated with the expanding Pingtung Science Park and related supply chains, Pingtung natives returning from northern Taiwan, and higher-income local residents seeking primary residences, including professionals such as doctors, lawyers, and accountants.
