KAOHSIUNG — Taiwan High Speed Rail (台灣高鐵) has launched a bundled travel package tied to an upcoming festival in Pingtung County (屏東縣), offering discounted transport and guided itineraries aimed at boosting travel to southern Taiwan.
The package is built around the “Southern International Lifestyle Festival” (南國國際生活節), scheduled for April 10–12 and April 17–19 in Hengchun Township (恆春鎮), with events centered at Beimen Plaza (北門廣場).

According to the company, travelers departing from Taipei can purchase a round-trip high-speed rail ticket bundled with tours, meals, and local gifts for NT$3,100 — roughly equivalent to the cost of rail tickets plus an additional NT$120.
The one-day itinerary includes visits to the festival site, the recently renovated Chuhuo Special Scenic Area (出火特別景觀區), known for its natural gas flames, and the Hengchun Folk Song Museum (恆春民謠館), Taiwan’s first museum dedicated to local folk music traditions.
Designated departure dates for the package are April 11–12 and April 18–19, with limited availability across four groups.

Additional themed itineraries are also being offered under the THSR holiday program. These include coastal routes featuring the Alangyi Historic Trail (阿塱壹古道) and the retro Blue Skin Train (藍皮解憂號), as well as overnight experiences at the National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium (國立海洋生物博物館) in Checheng Township (車城鄉).
For independent travelers, rail-and-hotel bundles are also available. One example cited by the company includes a round-trip ticket from Taipei with a one-night stay in the Dapeng Bay (大鵬灣) area starting from NT$2,980.
The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to integrate rail transport with regional tourism promotion, particularly in southern destinations accessible via Kaohsiung as a transit hub.
