KAOHSIUNG — A local man recently took to the social media platform Threads to reveal that he had spent the last 30 days brushing his teeth with facial cleanser instead of toothpaste.

The post, which features a photo of a nearly empty tube of Swissvita (薇佳) Honey Acid Skin Polishing Cleanser, has garnered nearly 30,000 likes and sparked an unexpected dialogue between the victim, medical professionals, and the brand itself.

“My Teeth Have Never Had So Much Face”

The original poster (OP) lamented his “clumsy” behavior, noting that he had spent an entire month wondering why his “toothpaste” had almost no flavor. It wasn’t until the tube was squeezed flat that he realized the error. When asked by curious netizens about the experience, he described the taste simply as “slightly bitter.”

Netizens flooded the comments with humor, with one user joking, “This is the most ‘face-saving’ moment your teeth will ever have,” and another adding, “Bro, your teeth are about to be the most exfoliated part of your body.”

Medical Experts and Founder Weigh In

The viral post even caught the attention of professional pharmacists and dermatologists, one of whom wondered if the man’s teeth had actually become whiter, explaining that mandelic acid does indeed have whitening properties.

Even the founder of Swissvita, known as “Boss Bin,” joined the thread to check on the OP’s well-being, jokingly asking if the accidental experiment provided any “added value” to the user’s morning routine.

Brand Expands to Kaohsiung Dream Mall

While the “toothpaste” incident was an accident, it has unintentionally highlighted the brand’s popularity, which recently celebrated the opening of its new Skin Management Center at Kaohsiung Dream Mall.
