KAOHSIUNG — A China Airlines flight from Hong Kong delayed its landing at Kaohsiung International Airport on July 21 after cabin crew reported that a child passenger was not properly seated.

Flight CI934 departed Hong Kong at 10:25 a.m. and was preparing to land in Kaohsiung at about 11:33 a.m., according to local media reports citing air traffic control audio posted by the YouTube channel TWSkyWave (空中電波).

In the recording, the pilot tells the tower that cabin crew had reported a child was not seated and that the aircraft could not land under those conditions.

The pilot then requested to circle once before attempting to land again. The tower canceled the approach and instructed the aircraft to turn right for another loop.

The flight landed safely at 11:52 a.m.

The audio later circulated on Threads, where many users praised the pilot for following safety procedures. Others criticized the child’s parents, though some commenters said people should avoid making assumptions without knowing the full situation on board.
