KAOHSIUNG — The “World Ancient Civilizations Immersive Exhibition” (世界古文明沉浸體驗展) opened at the Pier-2 Art Center (駁二藝術特區) P3 Warehouse (P3倉庫) on June 19 and will run through Sept. 8.

Organized by Firenze Culture and Creative Co. (翡冷翠文創), the exhibition utilizes digital projection, interactive installations, and recreated historical scenes to present the development of four major ancient civilizations: Mesopotamia, Egypt, the Mediterranean, and India. The curation centers on the theme of river valleys as the origin of human civilization, exploring how early societies formed cities, laws, and belief systems in response to their natural environments.

The exhibition features 33 curated replica artifacts and extends over 50 educational data points through immersive audio-visual displays. An introductory zone features a 3D light-sculpted map, a giant digital flipbook, and a chronological river timeline illustrating how human settlements initially formed around water sources.
According to the organizer, the main hall is divided into four thematic zones. The Mesopotamia zone highlights the region’s unpredictable rivers, showcasing the development of early writing systems, legal codes, and a lion-hunting projection. The Egypt zone focuses on the Nile River and ancient Egyptian concepts of eternity and the afterlife, featuring a large-scale Sphinx replica, a recreated tomb setting, and 3D pyramid projections.

The Mediterranean zone explores the transition from mythology to philosophy, highlighted by a light sculpture of Zeus and classical architectural replicas. This section details how regional exchange influenced modern political systems and art. The India zone, historically centered on the Ganges River, presents concepts of the cycle of life, religious art, and inner philosophy through immersive mandala projections.
A concluding zone connects ancient institutions, languages, and beliefs to contemporary society, while an adjoining retail space offers merchandise incorporating historical symbols.

The exhibition is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the last admission and ticket sales ending at 5 p.m.. General admission tickets are priced at NT$450, while discounted tickets are available for individuals with disabilities. The event extends a previous iteration of the exhibition held in Taipei.
