Megaport has grown from an indie-focused gathering into one of southern Taiwan’s most prominent live music events, and organizers say Hsieh’s return, 20 years after the festival’s launch, shows both the event’s longevity and its expanding draw.
The Tourism Department attributed the success of the event to cross-sector collaboration involving harbor-side infrastructure and themed character displays, specifically citing Ultraman-themed inflatables. The 2026 Tainan (臺南) “Ancient Capital International Half Marathon” (2026 臺南古都國際半程馬拉松) began at 5:30 a.m. today, March 1, at the Yonghua Municipal Center (永華市政中心). Organizers reported a record 25,289 registered runners, including 417 overseas participants from 36 countries.
