The installation joins other large-scale inflatables already positioned in waters near the Kaohsiung Music Center (高雄流行音樂中心), including a 15-meter Ultraman Tiga and a full-size classic Ultraman figure. The newly unveiled version, a smaller “Q-style” character, was revealed in the Third Ship Channel (第三船渠) and drew strong reactions from visitors watching from the waterfront.
Beyond long-established destinations such as Cijin (旗津), Cishan Old Street (旗山老街), Sizihwan (西子灣), and the Pier-2 Art Center (駁二藝術特區), several newer attractions — including Guoling Park (果嶺公園) and the newly opened Senye Wildlife School (森野動物學校) in Neimen (內門區) — will welcome holiday crowds for the first time.

The centerpiece of the 2026 program is a major autumn retrospective of British conceptual art pioneer Michael Craig-Martin, marking his first large-scale solo exhibition in Asia.
“MUN isn’t about perfection or competition; it’s about learning, sharing perspectives, and finding confidence in expressing your ideas,” added Deputy Secretary-General Daniel Chen (Grade 11).
“About That March: Things I Remember,” an exhibition at the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, frames the gallery as a writer’s study, using art and literature to revisit March 1947.
The festival will run for 25 days through the Lantern Festival. A total of 10 art light installations and 10 “lightscape” zones will stretch across a 1.5-kilometer route centered on Dadong Wetland Park, often described as a “Kaohsiung version of the Forgotten Forest.”
The agreement represents Rolex’s first partnership with a performing arts center in Taiwan and places Weiwuying alongside a small group of international cultural institutions that maintain formal relationships with the company.
The new park covers approximately 2.9 hectares and is designed to protect and explain the long-observed “fire” phenomenon, in which combustible gas escapes through fissures in the earth and ignites at the surface.
